Health Coaching Switzerland is a neutral, independent platform dedicated to clarifying, structuring, and advancing the role of health coaching within the Swiss health, prevention, and workplace ecosystem. As health systems face growing pressure from chronic disease, demographic change, rising costs, and the limits of treatment-only approaches, health coaching is increasingly recognised internationally as a complementary, prevention-oriented profession focused on sustainable behaviour change, autonomy, and long-term well-being. In Switzerland, however, the field remains fragmented and often misunderstood. Health Coaching Switzerland exists to create a clear, credible space for dialogue, alignment, and shared understanding. Our role is to: - Clarify what health coaching is — and what it is not ; - Distinguish coaching from care, therapy, and medical treatment ; - Support a prevention- and salutogenesis-oriented approach to health ; - Foster constructive dialogue between coaching, healthcare, insurers, institutions, employers, and education ; - Situate Switzerland within international developments and best practices. Health coaching works primarily with clients, not patients. It complements the health system — it does not replace it. Health coaches support individuals in developing healthier behaviours, strengthening self-responsibility, and navigating change, while respecting strict professional boundaries: no diagnosis, no treatment, no medical substitution. Health Coaching Switzerland is not a commercial brand, training provider, or accreditation body. It is a structured forum and evolving platform designed to support thoughtful, evidence-informed exploration of how health coaching could responsibly integrate into the Swiss context over time. Our activities include: - Conferences and public forums - Cross-sector panels and thematic workshops - Mapping of existing practices and initiatives - Exploration of academic, institutional, and public recognition
